Killa Korean: CHO CHO CHOOooo Seung-Hui
I am reluctantly doing one last post with images of Cho Seung-Hui, Mr. Face of American Mass Murder.
Me and the Professor will most more than likely continue over time to discuss America's love of violence and loathing of sex,
our combined cultural ignorance, and knee-jerk reactions of people who get paid to do what we would love to do, which is write/entertain for a living. See we feel people who are our current cultural leaders, that being writers, actors, news reporters and general celebrities, are and have, dropped the ball many times with regard to speaking out on social ignorance and violence. Seems like the only way issues that are relevant get brought up in our society is when something tragic happens, like the Virginia Tech incident.
However, the Professor and I also know very well that within a few weeks from now about 80% of the people who 'care' so much right now, will be back in their homes living their sheepish lives, worrying more about dancing with the stars, 24, or LOST..maybe even engrossing themselves in violence based television shows like the CSI series...but surely not concerned about 'all of the senseless violence' that occurs in our country on a daily and hourly basis.
So with that said, for those of you who recently decided that handguns are dangerous and that our culture seems to incubate nutcases, again, let me remind you: Philadelphia hit its 100th murder on March 30, 2007; Last year New York -ALONE- had over 550 murders; and Mr. Cho Seung-Hui's 32 little murders will be less than 1% of the total murders that take place in the United States of America.. and I actually KNOW my neighbors and my countrymen really REALLY dont care. Until, perhaps, an Amish guy with a legally bought firearm kills 5 little girls and injures 5 more in a little school house in Amish Country USA (oh wait, that happened last year..)
LISTEN... hear the gunshots?? How many can you count?

Excellent posting Ricci!
I hear some in the Asian community are "complaing" that the first descriptions of this raving lunatic was that he was "asian". Well...HE WAS! What's the problem. Black people have been going thru that type of initial "description" since the 1600's. I dont see the big deal, frankly.
But, the problem isn't "Asians"..or "Blacks", or "Hispanics", or "Whites"...it's AMERICAN culture. Had that fool stayed in Korea he wouldn't have wanted to shoot anybody. I'm not saying he "should" have stayed in Korea. I'm saying that coming HERE allowed him free access to manifest his derangement in bloody ballistic horror.
I dont see why the Asian community should cry "foul".. aint nobody blaming ALL Asians for what that maniac did. That a singular "Asian", not affiliated with a strictly Asian miltary unit, committed this nightmare is surely an aberration.
On the contary.. I blame the United States of America for freely supplying and ENCOURAGING the purchase of these weapons of mass destruction, so that unbalanced-homicidal-idiots like that dude can wreak havoc when and where they please.
This place is a joke. Prostitution (victimless), pornography (victimless, therapeutic, educational, FUN), drugs (as victimless as alcohol), gambling (lucrative, FUN), and cigarettes are either illegal, frowned upon or discouraged..
GUNS (harmful, immoral, inherently dangerous, used for the SPECIFIC use and purpose of KILLING live beings), however, are somehow COMPLETELY LEGAL and ENCOURAGED as an American birthright.
GUNS are as American as apple-goddamn-pie! ..And folks have the unmitigated NERVE to wonder in public "how" something like this could happen.. You've GOT TO BE KIDDING ME.
..dont dare be surprised when you find me living some place else on the planet. Please believe this.
Well quite honestly, yesterday while waiting at a stoplight on the way to work, an Asian guy was running across the street just slightly in front of my SUV...
I panicked and locked my doors and prepared myself to negotiate a get-away incase the dude whipped out a gun and started taking people out.
ROFL>
I tell ya, teenage white boys, Amish old dudes, and Koreans scare the hell out of me. Black guys would scare me but their violence, while crazy, is never psycho, you can see a black dudes violence coming from a mile away..but these other folks.. sneaky lil nut cases.
ROFL
..just a quickie response:
You're in danger from ANYONE living here I'm sad to report. Your "sneaky lil' nut-case" is as close as your nearest Wal-Mart. And sadly..THAT'S REAL.
Until the USA finally wakes the FUCK up (yeah I said it!), we'll continue to see these incidents on a daily, weekly and yearly basis.
And because I, in fact, DO know it all...here is the solution:
-BAN ALL GUNS.
-LEGALIZE all DRUGS. and I do mean "ALL".
-LEGALIZE all forms of PROSTITUTION.
-LEGALIZE GAMBLING.
-Have CHILDREN LEARN both SPANISH and ENGLISH in elementary school on a MANDATORY basis.
Use the taxes from Drug sales, prostitution and gambling to subsidize treatment programs, education and healthcare.
Until we start with these revisions in our thinking, nothing is going to change. Just more "slow-singin and flower-bringin"..and a bunch more DUMBASS questions from folks who apparently cannot remember that they reside in an inherently violent gun-crazy society.
I reiterate..this place is a joke. But nobody is laughing.
I have a RIGHT to be scared if I live in Philadelphia.
Hell..living ANYWHERE in the USA is scary.
Yeah yeah yeah I know I knowwww.
However, though all of us may be in danger because of the free spirited gunslingers out there, the truth is, the really real truth is I aint afraid of bumpin into a nutcase in truth.
Fact is, tragedies like this V-Tech incident only help make America that much more willing and able to close their minds, lock their doors and stand in fear behind them... while considering purchasing a gun themselves.
Fact is when you break down the numbers, the truly average American has a very very very slim chance of being gunned down here. When you look at the exact statistics the number of people murdered (by guns especially) in our 300,000,000 population country, it isn’t THAT easy to get gunned down.
NOW, Once that fact is truly understood perhaps the hard hat and Plexiglas shield of FEAR can be removed and people can start congregating and discussing these issues with true earnest.
As it stands, we are working towards a Blade Runner culture where cities will have true ZONES where its just a known fact that you can get capped, and ZONES where other -generally richer- people can live above and away from the downtrodden and brushed over.
IF we don’t really start to CARE about the USA, it will continue to stratify until there are GREEN people who NEVER see the gutters of the streets, party in penthouses with pets and bunnies, and BROWN people (including dirty white trash) who scuffle daily for gallons of milk, hold each other up for thirty bucks, splash and grab one another for diapers and apple juice and essentially group around televisions while getting high or drunk in order to help one day ease into the next.
Until WE remove fear (which this V-Tech incident just re-capitalized) none of your ideas can happen.
Europeans are NOT AFRAID of their streets or countrymen.
Japanese are NOT AFRAID of their streets or countrymen.
Australians are NOT AFRAID of their streets or countrymen.
Germans are NOT AFRAID of their streets or countrymen.
AMERICANS FEAR EACH OTHER and the truth is, if your first inclination when reading that AMERICANS FEAR EACH OTHER is to recite I AINT AFRAID OF NO MAN CUZ I'LL KICK HIS ASS- well you just proved my point. You think of self defense and violence as linked to FEAR.
… . .. and I hate to be so repetitive, but V-Tech has caused people to write that ‘they are afraid’ which is totally horrible because if 32 people getting killed SUDDENLY made them scared WHERE WAS THEIR FEAR when Philly hit 100. I know people who LIVE in Philly that didn’t know Philly was at 100 murders at the end of March..but they SURE KNEW about 32 students gunned down by a freak (freak = something out of the norm, and rare). Fact is, Americans do NOT care about AMERICA they care about themselves until something FANTASTIC happens that draws their attentions for a few commercial break moments.
And one other thing in response to your last comment...isn't that exactly what I just said?
No need to use flowery language and explanation for this uncivilized half-baked, shoot first Nation. American culture is basically a violent, myopic, reactionary hodge-podge of civil disorder struggling to claw its way out of a hole; ironically, digging its hole deeper with each blind thrust.
BAN GUNS.
Actually NO what you said is exactly what I was saying is the problem. People believe what you have written to such an extent that no one MOVES to take any action. Folks are afraid for the lives when their chances of getting killed by a violent gun laden moment is literally SLIM TO NONE.
Its violent cities like Philly, making the news all the time, people discussing events like V-Tech for a freakin week, that leads to people truly believing that it is already SO bad out here that the best thing to do is arm themselves and get prepared for the firefight.
If more people would remind our society that the level of violence, while greater than any other country (not counting the middle east -in general- or the Sudan) is still not high enough for everyone to get freaked out about sending their kids to school, or going out to clubs at night.
What you are saying is exactly what NRA dudes love to hear because once you say we are a violent crazy killer culture, the sheep out there wonder how to protect themselves firstly, and then hide at home with guns... immobilized.
Which is why its going to get worse because NO ONE ever reminds people of the truth. I've lived roughly 14,040 days on this planet and on THREE different days people shot up schools. I've seen two people get shot, and when you boil it down, my chances of getting shot with this type of history, its less than .002%!!!!
So I'm not fearful, but has anyone helped other people understand their chances? NO. THEY scream about guns, violence, put up news stories of murder and mayhem, FREEZE people in their homes with fear.
So no changes occur.
You are not going to sit there and try to convince me or anyone else that you DO NOT live in a violent gun crazed society. Fuck the NRA. They were established to guarantee White ownership of weapons to use against "niggaz" so I dont give a rat's ass what they think. And the NRA may use the same rhetoric as what I am stating (which is doubtful) but they certainly DO NOT Ssteate the same "solution" as I state.
Plus..I'M RIGHT. The U.S. is going to continue to see bloody days until it gets its' gun laws together. Most people are shot with legally bought fireams. Most people are shot by people they know. Most people are shot with 10 feet of their own homes. This is a PROBLEM and it's a problem of gun availabilty and gun encouragement. It's one thing to have weapons available..but to have your society actively persuade you that gun ownership is your "moral responsibility" is a whole 'nother matter altogether. That's when you start getting into the psychosis of this place.
No, buddy.. I'm right. Everyone else is wrong. Doesn't matter if your chances of getting shot are slim to none. If that's the case then your chnces in Australia are "none to none". So give me Australia.
Guns need to be as illegal as heroin is now. And heroin (and it's ilk) needs to be as legal as guns are now. Try it my way for a bit. Let's see what happens. We're so far into this insanity that it'll take 4 generations to truly sink in..but eventually, gun violence will go the way of the lynching. Sure, you'll have a few here and there..but the days of the Virginia Tech's, the U. of Texas/Austin, the Columbines..those days will be over.
Until then..start counting down the days 'til the next nut-case goes ballistic. Cause it's gonna happen..
Nothing will happen until it is understood that people like you, screaming about the chaos, are not making people feel motivated to take action, but instead are scaring people into immobility. We live in a violent society, but it is not so violent as to keep people from making a statement, taking a stand. There will be NO gun laws so long as people believe they NEED their guns, which is exactly what you prescribe. If it is already so bad and scary that you/me/I/we can be killed if we dont watch our backs then it is too late for gun laws and we might as well walk around with guns holstered and cocked ready to fire.
Bottom line is YOU have gone out at least three times a week since arriving in San Diego in 1997, at least three times a week. That would mean 3 days a week, roughly 50 weeks a year for over, or near 10 years. In over 1500 days in the streets, at night, in a big city, have you ONCE ducked/dodged a bullet? ONCE, in this violent society you wish to prescribe to everyone? Have you been nicked, seen paint fly, watch the smoke dissipate after a gun fight? If you can say NO, then your tone of voice (written voice) and reality arent one and the same and YOU help keep people locked up in their homes because you declare we are a crazed violent gun totin society that needs help -which scares the HELL out of people. Sure we need gun laws, but I would also prefer to start yelling about reality, which is for 1500 days the Professor has gone out in the public to clubs that play HIP HOP no less and has NEVER been in the middle of a gun fight. Now at the same time, its not like the Professor goes to nightclubs in tha dreaded hood, so he's not crazy, and if people who go out to 'regular clubs' could, for once, realize that gun laws would be a GOOD THING, then even 'hood clubs' might become more fun, due to the lack of hand gun violence. We are a violent society, sure, but we arent as violent as the news portrays - yet -.
WHATEVER... lots of people go out everyday in Baghdad too.. Your point is irrelevant to the issue. The issue is guns have no place in civilized society and need to be outlawed.
